BookMooch Journals Project

Here is a cool way to exercise your creativity: BookMooch Journals. If you are not familiar with BookMooch, you should be — it is a book exchange site, where you can “mooch” books for free from willing givers. All you have to do is give books in return, and pay the cost of postage.
The idea behind the Journals project is to start a new blank journal with a particular theme and place it on BookMooch for mooching. The person who mooches it adds a page that fits the theme. Express yourself through prose, poetry, art, photography, collage — however you like — and then put the journal back out there. Once the journal is full, it is returned to the original person.
The BookMooch Journals blog lists all of the journals available for mooching. There’s also a Flickr site to view pages from different journals.
I love how the Interwebs is making it possible to be more creative and collaborate together in these unusual ways. I also love the idea of journals traveling around the world, collecting art and thoughts along the way, resulting in something truly original. You can read more about this project on the BookMooch blog. And if you haven’t joined BookMooch yet, consider doing so — it is a great way to get free books and meet other book lovers.
