You will not be spoiled if you've already seen the movie. I like them both a lot, but I think I prefer the book. It's a lot more subtle, and the ending is much more ambiguous. It's a really great book - nice to hear you enjoyed it. I saw "Children of Men" (movie) and thought it was really interesting. Of course, I only realized it was based on a book when it got the end and acknowledged that fact... I do dislike watching movies without reading the book... hmm. I've heard from a few people, though, that the book and the movie are pretty different.
